Situationships Are Dead. Love Is Alive.

Plus, Snoop Dogg: King Of The Rebrand

This week, we’re doing things a liiiiiiittttttle differently around the OffBall offices. As the holidays creep up on us, and the year is nearly at its end, I figured I’d let myself get sentimental about the past 12 months of newsletterin’. The OffBall daily newsletter is such a labor of love. You’ve seen how much I pack into it every day — much of it is thanks to colleagues, by the way. And to you, my readers! So, each day this week will be a look back at some of our favorite newsletter moments of 2025. It will look a little bit different, but it’s still the good stuff! But first, the links!

…This man, who was once very vocal about his affiliation with a major gang, is now besties with Martha Stewart, honorary coach for Team USA at the Winter Olympics (his second fling with the rings btw), and calling NBA games on Peacock. Certainly not a traditional trajectory for our guy, but he’s working it.

For some NFLers, like Anthony Walker Jr., giving gifts to teammates is less about extravagance and more about the thought. For Tom Brady, giving Audis to your entire offensive line was common practice. Twenty-five players weighed in with SI’s Greg Bishop on gift giving. There are no whiskey cubes or leather money clips on this list. But there is a 2000 Dodge Neon. And a slushie machine!

In her Substack, Impersonal Foul, Madeline Hill is celebrating five years of manifesting her dreams. And it’s mostly thanks to Larsa Pippen. How many people can say that about their careers?

Stephen Curry is kind of living his best divorced life post-Under Armour. He’s taking every single sneaker for a spin around the block. Nike, Adidas, Hoka, Anta, Marni, you name it. He’s realllllly putting himself out there.

If you don’t know her, allow me to introduce you to Gabriella Karefa-Johnson. She’s a former Vogue and Vice editor and contributor, and she’s got takes. Specifically, that men pretending to be men playing sports are ruining her life. For me, it’s the men actually playing the sports ruining my life.

Forward this to your situationship. Let them know it’s time to get serious.

It’s been a banner year for new relationships. You heard it here first: streets are saying situationships are over. And some of the best new relationships are made up of the most iconic sports and culture figures.

Some have become so iconic because of how devoted they are to their partners…Like the NBA Wife Guys. Although I have to amend this list to include Nikola Jokic, after finding out he moved here to follow his volleyball-playing wife. A fact I learned in the comments of this post.

We’ve talked lots about Meg and Klay (and I’ll do it again!) and Justin and Madison, and A’ja and Bam. But no power couple gets more love than anyone (as they should!) in this here newsletter. And the newcomers like Myles Garrett and Chloe Kim have had their fair share of the convo.

I don’t want to brag, but I kind of blew the Gabby Williams/Marine Johannes relationship wide open

But you know who my favorite couple in all of sports is? Actually, no, don’t hold me to that, there are too many to choose from. But one that deserves our acclaim and attention and adoration and gives me that warm, fuzzy feeling? Hunter Woodhall and Tara Davis-Woodhall. That one’s got a primary source! Exclusive interview! Vertical video!

Also, sidenote, let me know if you have any intel on possible sports and/or culture couple, Lewis Hamilton and Raye.
