Who Let The Birds Out?

Plus, the MLS’ New Superstar Ownership Group

…And he’s saying boo to her detractors. On The Late Night Show, Saquon questioned jeers for Swift as she popped up on the Jumbotron mid-Super Bowl. He says she’s only helping to grow football. And he isn’t alone. Erin Andrews gave her slightly profane thoughts on it as well. Between Santa and Taylor Swift, no one is safe from Philly fans.

What, like it’s hard? Jaylen Brown teaches at MIT. And Harvard. And apparently, no one was going to tell us this? How long has this been going on? Can anyone take the courses? Does he ever write on the chalkboard with his left hand?

All 30 MLS teams are getting a makeover. All 30 new Adidas kits will be unveiled sporadically over the next few days, and there’s a great story behind each of them

Hey, everyone, get ready to learn London Wilmot, buddy. The stylist, with humble, unconventional beginnings, now dresses players from CeeDee Lamb to Danny Green to Hollywood Brown. And she’s sharing tips.

Alex Cooper and Alix Earle have everybody talking. Internet sleuths have discovered some potential beef between two of the most popular podcast hosts. Decide for yourself.

What does it look like when an entire city packs itself into a few blocks downtown? We’re about to find out. The Eagles’ Super Bowl Parade begins Friday at 11 am ET, and we’re not sure anyone is ready for the sheer level of lit-dom it’ll bring.

Surely the team’s still on a high, considering how they were on Jimmy Fallon, The View, and at Magic Kingdom in just a matter of days. But they’ll soon be headed back home to celebrate among the greased-up poles and flipped vehicles.

Remember when Jason Kelce gave this, let’s just call it, emotional (because we can’t repeat some of the words he used) speech at the 2018 Super Bowl parade? We probably shouldn’t expect a repeat, but he will be there, having more fun than he did watching, no doubt.

An estimated 1 million people will be there to celebrate the birds, and they’ll be coming from all over.

If you’re reading this, it’s not too late to join this person:

There will be many very cheery youngbuls in attendance (probably shotgunning juice boxes) because 200,000 kids will get a pseudo-snow day, as Philadelphia Public Schools are closed.

And if you can’t make it, or you aren’t one for rowdy parties, here’s how to watch.

It’s been a big week for the folks over at San Diego FC.

On Wednesday, the MLS expansion team announced the Grammy-winning, Afrobeats-singing Nigerian sensation Tems as its latest celebrity shareholder after it shared that the Issa Rae had become an investor in the club the day before.

The pair have sprinkled even more stardust on an already stacked ownership roster that includes World Cup winner Juan Mata and San Diego Padres’ perennial MLB All-Star Manny Machado.

It’s clear that for the ownership group at San Diego, it’s about so much more than controlling a soccer team. It’s a purpose-driven enterprise, and we love that.

Both Tems’ and Rae’s investments in San Diego were brokered in partnership with Pave Investments, an African private investment firm. In her announcement on X, Tems even called out her support for San Diego’s partnership with the Right to Dream, the legendary Ghana-based academy that for years has nurtured and introduced top-level African soccer talent to the world’s biggest stage, including West Ham’s Ghanaian forward Mohamed Kudus.

And the good vibes don’t stop there. One of the club's two majority owners is the Sycuan Tribe, San Diego’s ancestral family. The Sycuan is the first Native American tribe to have an ownership stake in a professional soccer team.

If you can get yourself in that directors’ suite for the first home game on Feb. 2, it may be the best 90 minutes of networking ever. Just be sure to say hi from us!
