All 55 UEFA members have vowed to boycott all FIFA events if FIFA president Gianni Infantino goes forward with the sale to US-based private equity heads. Good for them, but I’m annoyed at the timing.    

LeBron James’ 76ers jersey broke a Fanatics record for most jerseys sold in the first 48 hours after a player joins a team. And I’m going to make bajillion dollars when I sell them all on eBay. I mean– wow a lot of people bought those!

The off-court happenings in the WNBA have been getting a little too intense for my taste. There’s this. And the controversies involving Sophie Cunningham and the Seattle Storm have permeated my timeline so much so it has rendered them completely unavoidable, and me, completely depressed. So, I want to refocus, because the WNBA deserves to be known and talked about for all the good stuff. Here are the storylines you should be following instead of #that #one. 

Marina Mabrey is a philanthropy queen. For every shot made in the ASG, she sent $500 to Toronto's Black Women's Institute for Health. And she made a lot of shots. $6,500 worth, in fact.

Speaking of Mabrey, her family (all four siblings and parents) really proved they were ready for their closeup this weekend. Someone needs to give them a reality show, STAT. Michaela is dating Kahleah Copper, for one. Dara is hilarious. Actually, they’re all hilarious. 

Kelsey Plum, girl, what the heck! At the time I am writing this, KP has only played 55 games for the LA Sparks, but rumor has it (on the eve of Sunday’s trade deadline) she’s ready to move on. And fans are…not happy with the organization. Just read some of the replies here. Some think she’ll be a Mystic, which I fully support. 

Fans are knitting jerseys for their favorite players. They’re even having knitting parties at women’s sports bars. RysaSewsClothes (on IG) started the trend, and now it’s a whole movement. Angel even got one. 

Portland puts the alt in Altcast. Friend of the pod Trysta Krick and Portlandia legend Carrie Brownstein did an altcast on the Fire+ app (though I couldn’t see it in my zip code, and I’m a little salty about that), and I need 1,000 more of these. Thanks!

Every day continues to be a winding road for Under Armour. The news out of HQ in Baltimore, though, is that Dallas Wings player Li Yueru signed with the sportswear brand. Confusing because I thought they were making an Irish exit from basketball, but that’s why I just write a newsletter. Here’s a better newsletter about what Under Armour has going on, by the way.
