The W’s It Couple Stay Together, Play Together
Plus, Soccer Players Love This Drug

…It’s more likely than you think. If Wrexham FC finishes in the top two of League One, they get automatic promotion to the Championship. This would be the team’s third successive promotion since they went Hollywood and would put them one division away from the Premier League.
Julian Edelman had Jeanie Buss on to talk Jack Nichelson. That’s a lot of alliteration. It also sounds fake, but it’s real! Jack doesn’t pay for his tickets but he does sit by the visitor’s bench for a reason. Jeanie, we would also heckle visiting teams for courtside tickets, just so you know.
John Cena went on WWE to explain his heel turn from a few weeks back, and behind the shouting and general frightening demeanor, you can tell there’s a lot of pain in there. He probably could have just gone to therapy but this is more fun for fans.
Skylar Diggins-Smith has been serving since before the tunnel fit craze. But her new stylist—Manny Jay, who credits styling with saving his life after he was diagnosed with cancer at 19—is helping her up her fashion game even more.
Golf isn’t all high-waisted pastel shorts anymore. The founders of Eastside Golf, Earl Cooper and Olajuwon Ajanaku, are changing your perceptions of the game, one drop at a time.

For what it’s worth, Jalen can really act, and Donte can really wear a visor.

Your favorite Premier League players have discovered their own version of that special juice from Space Jam. And you probably drink it already.
Caffeine use has been on the rise in soccer (and sports) for years; so much so it’s administered by 97% of soccer clubs themselves. An anonymous fitness coach in the league said 50% of players use caffeine—the gum variety, specifically—to give them heightened alertness.
Maybe that explains the 2024 New York Red Bulls and 2023 Gotham FC championships (they play at Red Bull Stadium, and that baby houses many Red Bull fridges with flavors you didn’t even know existed).
The rise of caffeine gels, gums, and coffees in soccer can be traced back to France in 2013. Ludovic Rachou, founder of One Gum, was inspired by American soldiers in the 1990s, who used caffeine gum to stay awake and alert on 24-hour missions. He gave a pack to Real Madrid, PSG, and Monaco, and the rest is history. The proof was in the pudding. Clubs were convinced they were succeeding because of the gum. And maybe they were!
Apparently, caffeine enhances endurance and improves performance in short-term, high-intensity settings. It delays fatigue and improves cognitive function, alertness, and mood, by blocking adenosine receptors (we definitely know what that means). Maybe that’s why it’s banned by the NCAA in super high doses. Athletes are forbidden from consuming 500 mg or more two hours before competing. Seems kinda mean—life is already hard enough, imagine if your place of work or school banned coffee.

Natasha Cloud and Isabelle Harrison are the cutest couple in sports. Despite their claims they were just best friends, internet sleuths discovered the two were dating long ago. Then, Tash’s Valentine’s Day post confirmed it. P.S. only watch if you are prepared to believe in love.
There are a few power couples in the W, but Tash and Izzy just might be the most dynamic of them all. Tash is known for her activism, Izzy is known for her good vibes, and they’re both known for their fashion. This season, we all had a ball watching Tash cheer Izzy on during her season playing in Athletes Unlimited, and Izzy cheering Tash on during her season playing in Unrivaled.
Tash went on Ryan Clark’s pod and talked about how she went from being young and “outside” to, when Izzy came around, wanting to be inside with her.
Also, we forgot to mention they’re both certified buckets. So when Tash was traded from the Connecticut Sun to the New York Liberty on Sunday night, everyone was talking. Sabrina Ionescu was even leaving hints on social leading up to the trade. And guess who signed with the Liberty earlier this year? Izzy!
So, everyone’s favorite “it” couple will be together in NY this season. And although Tash wants to be inside, they’ll definitely be outside sometimes, too, because they’re already sourcing NY-based dog sitters.
