The HoopsBus Is Making Stops At Greatness
Plus, The Oscars, But Make It Sports

…Which leaves us wondering if Watermelon Sugar counts as a performance-enhancing drug. He crushed the Tokyo Marathon this weekend in a blistering 7:47 per mile. P.S. Maybe he should run to the studio; it’s been a few years.
Gunna made an appearance at Unrivaled, shouted out Angel Reese, copped Arike’s jersey, and dropped a single. An experience he’s Gunna remember forever.
Remember the kid who asked Wemby for his jersey? His parents auctioned the jersey off at $73,200 and now they're experiencing a serious case of seller's remorse. But everyone knows auctions are kind of a “no takebacksies” situation, so, we’ll see.
John Cena (with the help of The Rock) orchestrated the ultimate heel turn at WWE Elimination Chamber. And if fans weren’t confused enough by that, Travis Scott showed up randomly, and we aren’t sure why. We expect to get some answers when Cena returns to Raw in Brussels on March 17.
Peter Herbstreit is a dual-sport dog. And, like his owner, is a Big Blue Jackets fan, apparently. He was rinkside at the NHL Stadium Series and fans couldn’t get enough.

Watch it on Max now.

If you don’t know what HoopBus is, you will soon, because the wheels on this bus go round and round, round and round, round and round (it goes to a lot of places). The bus, which is a regular yellow school bus with a lofty goal of bringing the community together, showed out for The JuJu Watkins Show aka the USC vs. UCLA women’s hoops game this weekend, wrapped in a special Nike X JuJu paintjob. By the way, so did Cheryl and Reggie Miller, in dueling UCLA/USC jerseys, which USC flamed Reggie for, and a plethora of other A-list names that begin with ‘J’.
But back to the bus: founded by French artist Nico Naismith, the electric bus (which is now a fleet of four standard yellow school buses, stationed around the country) is helping change the world.
As a non-profit, they’re always finding new ways to make a difference in each corner of the country. During the LA fires, they were on the ground helping gather supplies and lighten the mood. They never shy away from social justice movements, they’ve been to WNBA and NBA All-Star weekends, toured 45 colleges in 50 days, and so much more.
So many professional hoopers have played on the bus, like LaMelo, and Tyrese, and even some non-hoopers, like when David Njoku stopped by for a quick dunk.
You can request they go to an elementary school for a PE takeover, and they might even let you do your podcast there (if you’re Rhyne Howard, ace women’s hoops reporter Khristina Williams, or UCLA forward Timea Gardiner).
If you’re lucky enough that HoopBus comes to your city, block, or street, make sure to throw up a few shots, because it’s about more than just basketball.

The Academy Awards are a huge cultural moment for even the most un-locked in folks out there. Probably because, much like college football, if we decide something matters, and we love it, it becomes truth. Plus, we’re just as irrational about award shows as we are about our favorite teams.
if an actor i like wins tonight: the academy members always know what they're doing. the oscars are a serious organization.
if an actor i don't like wins tonight: lol you know damn well academy members don't watch the movies. this doesn't mean anything.

And sports and movies have always gone hand-in-hand. Some of our favorite athletes are now athletes slash movie stars (ok, “stars” might be hyperbolic, but Hollywood can be sensitive, so let’s just let them have that).
This year, Adam Sandler showed up fitted for a pick-up game, maybe just in case Nickel Boys director RaMell Ross wanted to shoot around. Kobe once said winning an Oscar was even better than winning a championship. We’ve never won either, but if someone else can confirm or deny this that would be great. Mina Kimes had an important take on Anora:
I only have one Oscars take: The nice henchman dude in Anora looks a LOT like Christian McCaffrey and once you notice it it's all you see

Jeremy Strong lost out to former co-star Kieran Culkin (for the second time) and the memes didn’t disappoint. Viewers were excited Zoe Saldana won (but mainly because she should have won for one of the greatest sports movies ever, Center Stage). And many still weren’t over one of the other greatest sports movies ever—Challengers—not being nominated. Adrien Brody’s speech went a little long, some would say. And presenter Ben Stiller had the post of the night in our opinion.
I’m crying bro you’re at the Oscars

But our favorite part was seeing Coco Gauff on the red carpet. Since the Oscars are about serving, it makes sense she was there (tennis joke!).
Coco Gauff stuns at the Oscars.
Superstar. 💛

Book a trip to Marseille to see the Olympic horse that galloped on water for last summer’s opening ceremonies. It’s on display starting April 16.
And, if you stop in Rome, swim as the Romans do in this too-beautiful-to-be-true pool.
And give a follow to the Prem League team giving you the best content. Tottenham’s TikTok boasts the most eclectic mix of content in all of football, and the youths are loving it. COYS.
