The Chiefs and Josh Were Inevitable

Plus, Tennis’ Most Wholesome Couple

…And somehow, we got the fewest Taylor Swift cutaways out of any Chiefs game this year. Don’t worry, though, here’s some proof she and Caitlin had a blast. By the way, can any lip readers help us out here? Did she mention the controversial officiating? Or whether she bumped into The Rizzler?

When in Rome, while promoting his latest film, Timothée Chalamet linked up with Paolo Dybala, and brought Edward Norton and Monica Barbaro. He also played against Liverpool defender Joe Gomez back in the day. Ball knower.

TikTok’s gone. Wait, no…it’s back. Or is it? Yes, it is. And Jared McCain is taking credit. He deserves everything in the world, so let’s just let him have it.

Frank Ocean, music’s most private star, showed support for his favorite UFC fighter on Instagram. Do you think they paired that pasta dish with too many bottles of wine we can’t pronounce?

Vuori, once a little-known maker of yoga clothing for men, has become Vuori big in the broleisure space. Now, thanks to Livvy Dunne doing all those cartwheels on the beach, they’re taking on large brands like Nike and Lululemon.

The Ravens played the Bills on Sunday night, and it almost felt like a Horcrux situation. For you non-Harry Potter knowers, that means these two QBs—Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen—could no longer be in the playoffs at the same time, and technically one of them had to destroy the other.

These two men, who are the most normal, best guys seem to be living somewhat parallel lives. They were drafted the same year, are two of the best, most fierce competitors we’ve seen, and both have a certain “je ne sais quoi.”

So who has the edge off the field?

On one hand, Josh Allen is engaged to a beautiful, talented, smart, cool, famous pop star and Oscar nominee. While Josh is getting married, Lamar is crashing weddings.

Jackson has a unisex cologne that his teammates said they’d wear, and Allen is the proud owner of a pistachio farm. Ok, diversified portfolios!

Despite Josh Allen defeating Lamar Jackson on the field, we’re calling the “Who Is Cooler Competition” too close to call.

Congrats to the Bills on heading to the AFC Championship and also to whoever wins MVP. We know Bills Mafia will be jumping on tables and dancing their hearts out in support of their guy.

And the award for Most Wholesome News Of The Weekend And The Aussie Open (So Far), goes to Gaël Monfils and Elina Svitolina.

WTA Champion and Ukrainian activist Svitolina is married to Monfils, who at 38 years of age is still tennis’ greatest showman and the oldest ATP Champion. The couple has also won our hearts.

The husband and wife each knocked off the no. 4 seeds in their respective sides of the tournament on Saturday, and then Monfils—in the words of generational poet “Cali Swag District”—did his Dougie. He frustrated his opponent Taylor Fritz to the point of him screaming, “I can’t hurt him! I can’t get the ball past him!” according to John McEnroe (though, surprisingly, it wasn’t the loudest court at the tourney). And the power couple’s victories don’t end there.

After her match on Saturday, Elina says she became inspired watching her husband. After his match, the 38-year-old Frenchman claimed his upset win was great, but winning isn’t his main goal. “My dream is to be old with a lot of kids and healthy…My dream is to have [an] unbelievable family.”

The fairytale ending for Monfils wasn’t to be, after he was forced to retire from his thrilling fourth-round clash with Ben Shelton. His words of encouragement to the 22-year-old as he left the court had us welling up. What a guy.

Speaking of beautiful words, Monfils recently penned this beautiful letter to the couple’s 1-year-old, Skaï, wherein he refers to her as his “pearl” and says she adds a “unique color” to his daily life.
