…First, they told us the intimate moments between NFL players and WAGS were prime examples of content farming, then they told us NFL Network podcast “Move the Sticks” was quite possibly hosted by AI. Technically those stories happened in reverse order but I gotta put the juicier one first, obviously.

One thing that is for sure for real: Olivia Miles. The Ringer’s Tyler Parker wrote about what makes her so special. And why we are all calling her “Superfly” now

Karl-Anthony Towns (not my cat, but the Knicks’ player) married Jordyn Woods and it was really weird, they didn’t have the wedding at MSG? Anyway, his teammates were there, Ben Stiller was there, Timmy C and Kylie were there, Justin and Hailey were there, Nic and Olandria, everyone except you and me. Maybe next time.

Remember Ceyair Wright, the child actor from Space Jam 2? He’s in a real High School Musical situation. The rookie Cincinnati Bengal left training camp to film a dream role. But in Troy Bolton fashion, he says he’ll return to the sport he loves in October. Get you a player who can do both.

LeBron James is joining YouTube to show off his swing. And he’s already got 392k subscribers. The channel, which is solely dedicated to golf, will be directed by Emmy winner Jason Gallagher.

Forward this to someone who questions everything. Or who has all the answers.

For sports fans, the most dull time of the year is the latter half of July and the beginning of August. Not that the WNBA (my favorite league) and MLB (some people’s favorite league, probably) aren’t delivering. There’s just something so sloggy and sluggish about this particular time, made even more bizarrely suffocating by the unbearable heat in the air.

For me, it’s a time of total reflection. I’m thinking and romanticizing and questioning and wondering until my face turns blue. And even though I can’t stop listening to Phoebe Bridgers’ new album, I will resist the urge to get too deep, and let you know which sports questions are renting luxury space in my mind.

-What kind of tea does Stewie have on the rest of the Liberty? And how can I get more like her so everyone tells me their secrets? Disclaimer: do NOT tell me your secrets, I famously will not keep them.

-How on earth does georainbolt do this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

-Who is Jaylen Brown talking to in all of these videos on social media? No shade at all, I’m sure these are good conversations, but I feel like I’m never given context on these.

-Does God hate me? Because I booked a trip to London to see Djed Spence play for Tottenham and he signed with Inter Milan 13 days before.

-Did they rig this NBA season to give LeBron and the 76ers the easiest path to a championship? I love a conspiracy theory, but probably not. It’s funny to think about though.

-Tell me again, that we’ll be Lovers and Friends, Ant Edwards? Just needed an excuse to put that video on your radar. Maybe we can at least be friendly enough that I can get some of these?

-Am I the only one stressed that the Spurs admitted to tanking for Wemby on “Hard Knocks” last week? Obviously we all know they were tanking, but you’re not really supposed to say that.

-Which Wings player wins the high bun-off? Should I try to do a high bun sometime?

Ok, that’s enough thinking for the week. See you in a few days.

I saw this Tweet by one of my favorite Substack writers, Jessica Schiffer, and got to thinking about sports crossovers.

Although I can’t really think of athletes being paid to promote other sports, it is interesting to me to think about which athletes are passionate about the sports they don’t play. Damian Lillard is a boxing freak, Anthony Edwards wishes he played football

It’s not just Sinner or NBA players. This week alone there have been some interesting crossovers.

The Chargers coaching staff rocked TOGTEHXR’s “Everyone Watches Women’s Sports” shirts.

Seattle is really riding for each other this week, too. San Antonio Spurs’ head coach and Seattle native Mitch Johnson visited the Seahawks at training camp, and Awa Fam and the Seattle Storm went to a preseason game.
