Plus, ICYMI The All-Star Weekend Memes

…No, that’s not a typo. Wizards fashion king Alex Sarr is the new face of Versace. No big surprises here since he’s been known to rep Versace in his tunnel fits and even on draft night.
The newest WNBA franchise was announced, and they’re an old franchise, too. The city of Cleveland has been awarded the final (for now) expansion team and they’re bringing back the Cleveland Rockers—one of the eight OG teams.
In foreign affairs news (something we never thought we’d say in this newsletter) the government of Sweden has officially anointed football club AIK a religion. Nike dropped a special kit to pay homage to the new theological addition and it’s fire. Back to you, Bob.
Brenda Song is a hoops head, she doesn’t just play one on TV. Lakers’ games are her and Macauley Culkin’s date night of choice, and she’s even got a Lakers ring with her name on it.
Speaking of sports date nights, Bukayo Saka and girlfriend Tolami Benson supported his counterparts, Arsenal Women in the North London Derby, with a special guest in tow.
Words matter. That’s what Jude Bellingham and Real Madrid contend, and the difference between “f*** off” and “f*** you” is the difference between getting sent off or staying on the pitch. Bellingham claims he levied the former at a referee while the official heard the latter. Dramaaaa. Thank you to The Athletic for this intense breakdown of language.

Marshawn Lynch is one of the most memorable RBs in the game, but over the years he’s been quietly building an acting reel, too, and it’s about to go Beast Mode.
It was announced Marshawn would be joining the cast of Euphoria for season 3. The season will include a time jump, which means the characters will no longer be in school, but who knows, maybe Marshawn is running back his role as an educator in Bottoms.
Couple the Euphoria announcement with the release of his new film with Ke Huy Quan, Love Hurts, and Lynch’s IMDB stacked. Westworld watchers have known Marshawn’s star power for a while, but some would say his acting equivalent to Beast Quake was Murderville—at least for now.
And by the way, he’s quietly making music, too. So, yeah, Marshawn Lynch is officially on EGOT watch.

To no one’s surprise, All-Star Weekend in the Bay was basketball’s party of the year.

…and couldn’t believe it.
wemby looks genuinely sick over getting disqualified and CP3 looks like the kid who talked his little brother into cheating on a test only for him to immediately get caught

Max McClung’s dunks were so good they got him the three-peat and may have inspired Ja and Giannis to partake next year.
Even dunk champ legend Zach LaVine might run it back.

As it usually is, the craziest part of the weekend was the jokes and memes.

A great way to fix All-Star Weekend’s Saturday Night - let the overwhelming majority of the NBA know that Mac McClung has won 3 straight dunk contests during Black History Month.

And in our humble opinion, some of the best bits came from the OffBall WhatsApp Group Chat with Jason Concepcion, Shea Serrano, and Jasmine Watkins.
And Jason and Jasmine hypothesize we’ll see a new format next year.
