Mark Cuban Is In His KD Era

Plus, Highlights From The Tourney

…He’s been spending time firing back at the haters online. After flaming a former employee who says he should be run out of Dallas, Cuban explained he was supposed to keep running the Mavs even after he sold his majority share of the team, but the NBA took it out of his contract, and the inexperienced Adelsons have been in charge since.

After hitting a record-high nine homers in one game, the Yankees are under fire for rebuilding their bats and adding more wood “closer to the label.” Opposing fans want them investigated for cheating.

If Eagles fan Hannah Einbender was casting for her HBO show Hacks, she’d choose Saquon Barkley to be her love interest. Any producers or casting directors in the chat, please help make this happen.

Former women’s football player turned NFL coach Jennifer King is changing the coaching game for the better. Jennifer King you are a queen.

Miu Miu is the latest luxury brand to launch a sports-inspired drop. The Gymnasium collection features tracksuits and trainers and purses that look like old-timey pommel horses, oh my!

In case you haven’t heard, skateboarding is having a moment.

The sport’s most prominent name, Tony Hawk, is trying to get the 2028 Olympics to add the vert competition—a style of skating that’s done on ramps, bowls, and halfpipes rather than just on the street. He says young skaters are more excited by the acrobatics and turns and flips involved in vert skating more than ever.

Skaters are especially eager to get vert included in the Olympics because of its exclusion elsewhere. San Francisco’s Emarcadero Plaza, known for being a skateboarding mecca since the 1990s, is undergoing a facelift. The plan is to rebuild a $30 million park, with no commitment to include the skateable elements that currently exist there. Ok, rude! The skate community is not stoked and is pledging to fight this erasure.

But, regardless of what happens in the bay, skateboarding’s stronghold over on the West Coast will live on forever. Some odd hours south by board (ok maybe many hours by board) in Santa Monica, Street League Skateboarding is hosting a fan-focused festival at the pier this May. America’s fave skater Nyjah Huston, will be there, hopefully fully healthy again after his gnarly TMI post about peeing blood and not fracturing his d***.

So it seems the more things change, the more they stay the same. Skaters are still the crazy, cool, activists who do stuff like post their bloody pee. We’re so back.

If you were out living your life to the fullest this weekend, don’t worry! We were holed up in a dark room compiling all the best storylines from the NCAA tournaments for you. Here’s your ICYMI highlight roundup extravaganza.

The men’s final four is set, while the women’s will play out today. But just because we don’t have our Cinderellas this year doesn’t mean the tournaments haven’t been giving.

Men's Elite Eight seeds: 1, 1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 2, 3 Women's Elite Eight seeds: 1, 1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 2, 3

USC is playing lights out without the real JuJu—maybe because they brought her mini-me to sit on the bench.

Hailey Van Lith made history this weekend, becoming the only player (men’s or women’s) to take three different teams to the Elite Eight (and if you’re counting, that’s five consecutive Elite Eights for her). Also, this clip of her dad, along with long-time rumored boyfriend slash Orlando Magic player Jalen Suggs celebrating her latest win, broke the internet.

Paige Bueckers made history, too, notching some stats only previously accomplished by Stephen Curry (heard of him???). Chelsea Gray took notice.

Dawn Staley shared how the plastic beaded necklaces she wears have helped give her perspective about the deeper battles others are fighting.

On the men’s side, Cooper Flagg and Jon Sheyer’s Duke team are playing out of their minds. Flagg has proven himself such a standout, Dan Patrick says if his career is like Kevin Love’s, it will be a disappointment. Kevin Love took the hit like a champ and just straight up agreed. Meanwhile, famously non-disappointing Duke alum Paolo Banchero is the only celebrity with a perfect Elite Eight.

BTW, if your loved one is playing in the tournament, they told us to tell you they’re gonna text you back, they swear, but some of them have upwards of 2000 unreads. Maybe try carrier pigeon at this point?
