Lululemon Is Aiming For The Stars

Plus, Luka vs. The Mavs

…Yeah, the iPhones he used to break some of the biggest NBA news ever could be yours for the right price. The profits will be given to St. Bonaventure’s NIL efforts. The phones probably still have those old lightning ports, so make sure you’re able to find one in your random pile of wadded-up cords.

Timothée Chalamet won the Screen Actor’s Guild Award for Best Actor, so naturally, he mentioned Michael Phelps and Michael Jordan in his acceptance speech. He said he wanted to be one of the greats, just like them. MJ obviously took that personally and enrolled in acting school, we’re guessing.

Is this baby GOATed? We probably don’t have enough data to officially crown this baby the fastest in the world, but #11 in the Pelicans baby crawl race has got to be close.

It’s the end of an era (maybe). Manchester City is far from the footballing powerhouse it was even a season ago. Not only are they battling for a Champions League spot, but they’re also awaiting a possible penalty for breaking all kinds of rules. Their haters are chuffed to bits.

In Weird Stuff, here’s a parallel you probably didn’t make yourself but will have fun reading about anyways: Nosferatu can be used as a literary device to explain the NFL combine.

Tiffany Hayes discussed her new fashion brand—Sayeh Renara—on A Touch More. Full episode here.

When it comes to athleisure, Lululemon is king—but their latest announcement that Lewis Hamilton is now an ambassador for the brand shows their ambitions extend far beyond activewear.

It seems the brand, referenced in this week’s episode of White Lotus as a brand worn by “rich bohemians from Malibu,” is attempting a couple of new biz moves. On one hand, they’re going high fashion, and on the other, they’re going high performance.

In the Hamilton spot posted yesterday, he’s conditioning in Lulu performance gear, but as a capital B Brand, Hamilton is the pinnacle of high fashion, the white whale of brand partners for any clothing retailer. Plus, this wouldn’t be their first foray into fashion-forward gear.

The brand showed their SLNSH line—a collab that pairs technical with adaptable “beyond the confines of performance,” encouraging wearers to dress it up or dress it down—with menswear designer Saul Nash at London Fashion Week

Lulu’s leveraging of fashionable (dare we say unpredictable) partners as opposed to more performance-based sporty ones, or even the woo-woo yoga girlies, tells us all about their big-picture plans.

Earlier this year, the brand announced Frances Tiafoe as an ambassador, making even more clear their interest in attacking the sportswear market from every angle

Expect to see less of it being worn by rich bohemians from Malibu, and more of it worn by the coolest athletes and models.

(Cue the boxing intro ding ding ding noise)

Tonight’s the matchup we’ve all been waiting (at least a couple weeks) for. In the yellow corner, we’ve got Erewhon’s newest regular…the baby-faced future face of the West Coast lifestyle…standing 6’6”, hailing from Slovenia is Luka Doncic (and also the rest of the Los Angeles Lakers and also most Mavs fans, it seems).

And in the blue corner, they sent shockwaves through all of America…their front office has been put through the wringer on social…their executives have a whole lot to prove…it’s the Dallas Mavericks (minus most of their fans).

That’s right, the two teams face off tonight at 7 pm PT, and JJ Redick says it’s gonna be weird. The dukes will be out at Crypto.com Arena, and we’re here for the drama.

Let’s get ready to ruuummbble!!!
