Kendrick Lamar Lands Super Bowl Halftime Show

Someone check on Drake.

Sports. Culture. Curated Daily.

The Yankees linked up with New York or Nowhere on a collection of 49 pieces with Mariano Rivera pitching in as a model. Thanks to NYON, pinstripes have never looked better.

New York’s hottest club is… the run club. Hundreds of runners are hitting the streets together, with those single and looking to mingle instructed to wear black. Sure he’s six-feet tall, but what’s his mile time?

Cobham and Oxshott, two towns on the outskirts of London, are the new Beverly Hills for the best footballers in the world. Do they do trick-or-treating in England? Those are king-size candy houses for sure.

CJ Stroud is the latest NFL athlete to sign to Jordan Brand, expanding the brand’s Houston reach beyond the Cougars and Travis Scott. Let’s see if he gifts Micah Parsons a pair.

Tom Brady’s first day in the broadcast booth drew mixed reviews as he got his sea legs under him. It’s kinda nice to know he’s not perfect at everything right away.

First, he watched Texas burn down the Big House, then hopped over to NYC to watch the U.S. Open final. Alright, alright, alright.

After dominating the first weekend of college football thanks to “Not Like Us” becoming an official HBCU marching band banger, Kendrick Lamar added to his football schedule with the news that he’d be performing at halftime of Super Bowl LIX.

Lamar has experience on the Super Bowl stage, having joined Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg onstage in Los Angeles at Super Bowl LVI in 2022. This time, it will be Kendrick booking the guests, and with the Big Game in New Orleans, he’ll have plenty of options. Feels like there’s no way Lil Wayne doesn’t make an appearance.

Someone check on Drake. Kendrick and Drake had the rap beef of the summer, and it peaked when Kendrick played “Not Like Us” five times in a row at The Pop Out in June. Now the Compton rapper is set to perform it in front of the biggest television audience since the literal moon landing.

Speaking of The Pop Out, remember how many athletes showed up to that party? LeBron James, Russell Westbrook, James Harden, and DeMar DeRozan were all dancing by the end of the show.

The athletes playing in this year’s Super Bowl will now be faced with a tough dilemma: To watch, or not to watch? In 2022, Bengals kicker Evan McPherson decided to stay on the field to watch the show. He got a front row seat, but also took some heat when Cinci lost the game. In his defense he didn’t miss a kick that whole postseason.

What Kendrick do you want to see on the Super Bowl stage? G.O.O.D. Kid? Mr. Morale? DAMN? Or maybe he just plays “Not Like Us” for 15 minutes straight. The marching bands are ready to accompany him.

As the U.S. Open finished up play in NYC, Fashion Week was just getting started, and many athletes and celebrities decided to double dip. Aryna Sabalenka had the best accessory a model could have—the U.S. Open trophy. Looks great with red.

Off-White™ nailed the sports-fashion crossover by turning Brooklyn Bridge Park’s Pier 2 into a pick-up basketball court to host its runway show. New brand TUNL hosted its inaugural gala with a guest list that included the likes of Suni Lee, Taraji P. Henson, Rich Paul, and plenty more.

Lewis Hamilton and Noah Lyles were watching tennis together, but would have looked just as much at home had they been watching a runway.

Forget watching the runway though—Lyles was walking it, serving as a model for Mexican-American fashion designer Willy Chavarria’s new collection “América.” We knew he could run, but this man can walk, too.

Surprise! Olympian #NoahLyles made his runway debut at Willy Chavarria’s spring 2025 show last night during #NewYorkFashionWeek.

Gymnast Jordan Chiles also made her fashion week debut walking at the Kim Shui Spring 2025 show over the weekend. Dear Megan Thee Stallion, she is waiting for your call.
