It’s 2026!! This Is What The Future Holds

…It was the worst of times. Ok, not the worst. Especially if you’re a sports creator. It was your year. Here is our creator round-up of the year. And 2026 will be even better! Or else! And you know what? Speaking of roundups, here are the 2025 photos we think should go into a museum. Not just any museum, the Louvre!

Basketball Feelings contributors like Louisa Thomas, Dr. Jessica Luther, Rob Mahoney, and Pasha Malla published a year-in-review of the best moments, people, and mems from 2025. And it’s worth your time. And time is money. So, you’ll make money if you read it. Is that how that works?

I posted on Instagram! Ok, not news, but you know how much courage and psyching yourself up and curating photos and perfecting crops go into posting these days? Kudos to people who do it every day. You are braver than the troops.  

Front Office Sports made some predictions for 2026. Since it’s January 1, they’ve all happened. They fixed sports gambling, and women’s sports are done climbing the proverbial mountain. Kidding, we've got all year, but that's what we can expect! 

By now, you’ve surely seen dozens of posts about how 2025 was a rough one for people. And, well, that’s because it was. This past year was brutal, but it’s my job (I suppose?) to find some of the good and help you celebrate it. 

Here are some things I want to see more of in 2026. 

First and foremost, I want Dua Lipa to keep living exactly as she has been living for the past few years. That woman’s passport is 1,000 pages long. 

I want Flau’jae to have the best year ever. Full album release, movie cameo, the works. And I think she will.

More animators, less generative AI. 

I want Stephen Curry to stay an indie sneaker wearer. Be the first to not sign on to develop a new sneaker. Make the OGs a relic.

I also want Stephen to be in more movies and commercials, as he is one of my favorite athlete actors. 

And speaking of that, random low-stakes athletes doing cameos because they love a show.

Also, more films and docs about visibility for marginalized groups in sport. 

Caitlin Clark photo dumps. Oftentimes, true jocks (Caitlin is the truest of jocks) stick to posting action or in-game shots. She gave us some BTS photos and I need her to keep ‘em comin’.

Continued growth in the collectibles and print media industries. Because owning something means something again. Especially pre-owned stuff.
