Holy, Trinity — This Is Big For WoSo
Plus, Athletes, They’re Just Like Models

…And it’s kind of the year of sports films. While my fave (“Sinners”) is not technically a sports movie, Ryan Coogler (ex-collegiate athlete) and Michael B. Jordan (Friday Night Lights legend) give it honorary status. “Marty Supreme” was nominated, as expected, but who saw “F1” in the race for Best Picture? Not me!
One of my favorite comedians, Lauren Servideo, penned a Teen Vogue op-ed about figure skating’s alt It Girl (rock on emoji), Alysa Liu, who brings her very own style to the sport. Warning: You’ll fall in love with both Lauren and Alysa if you read it.
Patrick Mahomes is releasing golf wear. To which I said, “Uhhh, Adidas, I think you have the wrong sport…” and to which they said, “No! We will be releasing golf gear with other athletes, too! And respectfully, how did you get into this meeting!?”
I'll have more thoughts below, but my colleagues Terence and Brady put together this mini Trinity Rodman site takeover in the wake of her big announcement that she's staying with the NWSL. The Min-Trin is a one-day event — catch it before midnight tonight, when the site is newly updated for the freakin’ weekend.
Trust me when I say you’re going to want to know who Vanderbilt’s hoops star Mikayla Blakes is — if you don’t already. And if you do, I’ve got a profile on your favorite player! Here! Either way, you’re welcome.
Forward this to Trinity Rodman’s fan club president.

In a move no one (definitely not me) saw coming, Trinity Rodman took to the Washington Spirit’s YouTube channel to officially announce she wasn’t leaving the NWSL for more profitable pastures. Thanks to the High Impact Player rule, the NWSL has been able to keep Rodman, where they’ve missed on other big American names who peaced for pitches abroad.
In her presser, Rodman became immediately emotional and said she almost cried before she came out. The execs around her made jokes about how big her salary was, but also how much she deserves it.
I’m personally very excited that we get to keep one of our best players, because not only are we keeping the best soccer here, but we won’t miss out on Trinity’s fits. And I think Ben Shelton’s probably pretty excited to not do long distance. Except when he’s traveling for like 6 months out of the year.

From the front row to the runway itself, fashion weeks have been dripping with athletes. Are we still doing puns? Probably not.
Anyway, Alvin Kamara proved running backs aren’t too short (or buff) to be models when he walked in Domenico Formichetti’s show. Every body is a model body! Thank you for your service, Alvin!
And honorary hockey player, Hudson Williams, made the DSquared2 show all his own.
In Paris, Shedeur and Shilo Sanders sat front row at the Amiri show. Shilo’s jewelry with this fit is very important to me. Everyone, please look at his rings.
And if a Fashion Week happens but Lewis Hamilton isn’t there, did it really happen? Of course not! Thankfully for us, Lewis was at the Dior show in Paris, talking things out with creative director Jonathan Anderson backstage.

Buy new PWHL merch. It’s reallllllllllly good.
Send cigars and stork figurines to Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, who announced she’s having a baby.
Go climbing. But actually, maybe don’t, unless you’re a pro. Like Alex Honnold.
