Francisco Lindor Has A Talk Show Future Brewing

Plus, Stream, Eagles, Stream

…The Eagles are making the Saquon leap from Super Bowl champions to Super Bowl champions with their own Roku documentary.  Finally, another way to watch all those Tush Push highlights.

If you need to hitch your wagon to a cyclist, might we suggest the Tour de Francer Ben Healy? The Irishman might not be a favorite to win it all, but he’s going to look the best trying. And isn’t startorial splendor what it’s all about? No? Hmm…ok…

Pablo Torre Finds Out, Men In Blazers, and half of the Ringer network made the cut of Time’s Best 100 Podcasts Of All Time. Kind of a bummer your award-winning pod didn’t make it, but perhaps next time. See the Happy 100 here

Gatorade is taking it upon themselves to address the very low percentage (6%—that’s not a typo) of sports science research dedicated to women. Starting with W athletes, they’ll conduct new research into hydration and recovery. Because women can be anything—even informed about their own bodies.

The New York Jets’ bid to trademark Gotham City Football was denied by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, which is unfortunate, because they already put the logo in their revamped locker room. The government says Gotham City is real, and you can’t trademark a place.

Raise your hand if any of these apply to you:

And the great news is, entering is simple

  1. Head to this site

  2. Enter your email for a chance to win (it's free)

All we ask is that you send pics of your haul if you win (sorry, that’s legally binding)!

Francisco Lindor is hoarding all the cultural aura. There’s the music (All those too-cute ‘My Girl’ singalongs). There’s the undeniable style (GQ cover, anyone?).

Now there’s the coffee…Or the show business, depending on how you choose to look at Cafe Con Lindor, the Mets star’s buzzy new talk show.

Lindor told his first guest, Action Bronson, over hot coffee (he doesn’t mess with cold coffee) that the show’s ethos is “all about the circle you create. Coffee is an amazing time to talk about anything, to be honest.”

Lindor says he wants the series to highlight authentic connections and stories—and not just cover baseball. In the inaugural episode, Action and Francisco discussed Puerto Rico’s parallels to Queens, how Action used to work at Citi Field, and the rapper’s tattoo of Barry Bonds’ stats.

To catch the show’s vibe, think Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, only it’s produced by MLB, and the host is the charismatic New York Mets’ shortstop. The show streams monthly on MLB’s YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music (etc.) as well as Lindor’s social media.

The Women’s Euros finals are set. We’ve got a 2023 Women’s World Cup rematch with La Roja facing the Lionesses. Technically, this is the third summer in a row we’re getting England vs. Spain in a major tournament finals (if you count the men’s Euros last year). Some social media users are less than enthused.

Despite their occasional struggles, England has given us some of the most iconic photos and moments from the tournament.

But Spain’s had their moments, too. Unsurprisingly, Aitana Bonmati, in particular, has been a social fan fave.

So come Sunday, pop your popcorn, turn your TV on, and get your Twitter fingers ready.
