Everyone Is Desperate To Be F1
Plus, Ja Is Yuki’s #1 Fan

…Yuckin’ it up in the stands at the women’s tourney in LA this weekend. What do you think they talked about? Wearing red-ish and yellow color combos? If you can trademark hairstyles? What it’s like to be one of one?
Tiger Woods is dating Vanessa Trump, former wife of Donald Trump Jr., and the hard launch included a plea for everyone to look away and act natural. We're paraphrasing, but Tiger basically said, “Ahem, a little privacy?!”
Someone in Warren Buffett’s pool just won a cool millie on the NCAA tourney for guessing 30 of the first 32 games correct. If it was you, have we told you you look really nice today?
Logan Paul is engaged to Dutch speedskater Jutta Leerdam. The wedding is going to be streamed on Netflix and they’ll have a 5-tiered PRIME fountain. (Probably). Congrats to the very blonde couple.
Ben Stiller went on New Heights to find out if he could handle the amount of pain required to play in the NFL, and Travis and Jason very diplomatically explained that every down is like riding a Bird scooter at 17mph and jumping off.

F1n•spo
/finspō/
noun
the act of being inspired by F1.
Every sport has its allures. But it seems that nobody’s doing it quite like F1, at least not yet. And, since the old adage (that we just made up) goes, “If you can’t join ‘em, copy ‘em,” all the other sports sure are trying.
For the new international hoops league by biz mogul Maverick Carter, they aren’t subtle about their F1nspo. Officials are literally dubbing it the F1 of hoops, in fact, maybe because the format, with its truncated seasons with games played in major cities around the world, was taken directly from the F1 map.
Like F1, up and coming league, Sail GP, is growing thanks to its investment in female athletes and fans. Sail GP understands capitalizing on diversity from the jump and building alongside that diversity means more eyes, more impressions, and more people tuning in. Their emphasis on the inclusion of female drivers mirrors F1’s.
For new-ish controversial-ish golf league LIV, CEO Scott O’Neil says F1 is the “only truly global sports league.” They hope to reinvent F1’s festival vibe, to bring spectators from all over the world for more than just the golf. Music, art, and food festivals are on the agenda.
Our cousin newsletter, SportsVerse remarked on the pages UEFA is taking out of F1’s playbook. Relevant Sports and UEFA are working together to emulate F1’s model of turning the actual sporting events into cultural experiences—because the race is so much more than the race, you know? Tangibly, this means Champions League broadcasts will be fresher, and the events themselves will rely more on showcases and fan engagement and original content on big-time streaming platforms.
New leagues are popping up to and fro, and they all understand the importance of becoming cultural sticking points to their growth. Perhaps that’s why they find F1 so F1n inspiring.

Warning: This is going to make you call your best friend.
Yuki Kawamura is the smallest man in the NBA, but he’s quickly become one of the biggest personalities. And the fact that he’s mostly a G-Leaguer didn’t stop him from forming one of the most type shii friendships with teammate Ja Morant.
Ja’s been somewhat of a mentor to Yuki, and has helped Yuki on the court. Luckily their curriculum also includes American slang (Ja taught Yuki what “type shii” means) and trash talking (even though he feels a little uncomfortable disrespecting opponents, Yuki learned to do the “too small” celebration from Ja).
If you are thinking about stepping to Yuki, maybe rethink that because he has a personal bodyguard in Ja now. And don’t even think about half-cheering for Yuki, or you’ll hear it from Ja. Then again, it doesn’t matter if you cheer for Yuki or not, because Ja’s going to be on his feet either way.
The friendcams we’ve been blessed with could win awards.
But that doesn’t mean Ja is Yuki’s GOAT—he gave that title to Ja’s daughter, Kaari, who goes to watch Yuki play in his G-League games.
