Bryce Harper Is The MVP of Baking Tiktok
Plus, Aussie Open Is In Full Swing

…It looks like someone’s New Year’s resolution was of the classic “read 12 books in 12 months” variety—or he’s just trying to tap into his inner excellence.
Draymond Green is being lauded for not starting a fight after getting one of his world-famous techs. Is Draymond changing his stripes?
Sephora’s dedication to supporting women in sports is unmatched. Sephora jumped at the chance to become a founding sponsor of the Toronto Tempo, inking the deal before they even have a roster. And ICYMI, Sephora is also Unrivaled.
Stephon Marbury was intensely depressed before he moved to China to play basketball and reinvent himself, and Henrik Lundqvist talked to him about it here. They also talked about poop for some reason.
The Portland Trail Blazers are ensuring Low Vision and Blind individuals can enjoy their games, too. Fans in attendance are able to rent out devices that use generative audio and haptics to help them watch the game with their fingertips.

Bryce Harper is in his wellness influencer era, and the Phillies right-fielder just might save TikTok. Harper, who throws right and bats left, is answering many of our burning questions, such as: which hand does he bake with? The answer is: both. Using just one hand would make this unnecessarily more difficult.
While the rest of us have anxiously awaited news on the app—it’s hard to say whether or not professional athletes even know about the ongoing TikTok battle (they have teams for those kinds of considerations, we’re guessing)—Harper is spending his offseason creating content on it.
Either way, so far, he’s gifted us #content on his daily lion’s mane mushroom latte, his banana bread, and his unique cold brew concoction. Natural sweeteners like maple syrup, coconut sugar, and dates are the MVP’s recipe MVPs, and he uses something called Kamut flour (brb, googling).

You will not regret following him (if only for a couple of days). His videos are worth watching for the TikTok Hands (he’s a natural, specifically while making banana bread) and Influencer Mouth Faces alone.
Petition for Jimmy Butler, Cooper Kupp, Patrick Mahomes, and Bryce Harper to start “The Four Families of Athletes That Do Coffee” situation. The first meeting will be everyone making fun of Cooper for not naming his coffee brand “Kupp of Coffee.”
Bryce Harper, open a cafe with baked goods, a plethora of outlets, and free wifi challenge.

Let’s talk Australian Open, because even though it’s just getting started, it’s been pretty eventful.
Tennis’ resident bad boy Nick Kyrgios was defeated and promptly announced it was the last time he’d play singles in the tournament. Tennis’ resident good boy (a descriptor people definitely use…), Frances Tiafoe, after a hard-fought win that lasted way too long, left it all out there on the court. Even his lunch.
Destanee Aiva became tennis’ resident champion of secondhand fashion after winning her first-round tie in a thrifted 2013 Caroline Wozniacki x Stella McCartney match-worn fit. It wasn’t to be a fairytale tournament for tennis’ resident besties Aryna Sabalena and Anna Kalinskaya, after the latter withdrew last minute, but the pair gave this adorable and wholesome co-interview you can’t miss.
This year, thanks to content creators like Morgan Riddle aka Taylor Fritz’s girlfriend, we’re getting lots of behind-the-scenes looks at what’s going on off the court. Naomi Osaka won her match yesterday, but more importantly, has decided to pursue a career in umpiring, if only she could remember the password.
It’s not news that Coco Gauff is the only active women’s tennis player with a signature shoe and apparel line at New Balance. It is news that she donned an Australian Open fit (which she clarifies is a full body suit), inspired by female Marvel superheroes. She designed her skirt with cargo pants in mind, and her shoes are inspired by her dad’s love of basketball.

In terms of favorites to win the men’s side, look no further than Italy’s Jannik Sinner, who has a storybook last name for someone under investigation for doping—let’s check back in on that in April. On the women’s side, our crystal ball is giving Sabalenka the edge to win it all. But we’ve still got 11 days of women’s play and 12 days of men’s play left, so there's still a whole lot of ball to hit still. That’s a phrase, right?

Head to the Poster House in NYC for the Just Frame It exhibit, which runs until February 23.
Spectate at an International Chase Tag Competition in Toulouse, France—yes, that’s what it sounds like.
Make sure you have access to TNT and truTV so you can watch Unrivaled, which tips off on Friday.
Buy this vintage Vancouver Canucks clock on Etsy. Or this weird non-denominational football one.
Watch 50 sports movies (you’ll need to use the 2x playback speed feature, but it would be sick to say you did that).
