Brenda Song Is Hollywood’s Biggest Sports Fan

Plus, The Biggest Match In Women’s Boxing

…Several times before she reciprocated. She told Alex Cooper the story of how the two got connected, and how Kuz wasn’t afraid to show her love

This sponsor is bananas! No, it’s like, actually bananas. The official fruit of the Men’s Spanish National Football (Fútbol) Team is Big Banana. The partnership is touted as a great way to plug local farmers. More specifically it’s the Canary Island Banana. Obviously.

Jordan Poole, Jaylen Brown, Zion Williamson, and Yuki Kawamura all have something in common. Ok, two things (because yes, they’re all in the NBA). These hoopers all love anime, and it may be no coincidence, because the 20-minute long episodes are great for their hashtag rockstar lifestyles.

Boxing isn’t the first sport you think of when it comes to fashion, but maybe it should be. Over the years, most of the biggest fashion houses—Margiela, Dior, Dolce & Gabbana—have dressed boxers. Some of these looks have got us on the ropes

When it comes to screaming on TV, Stephen A. Smith is the best in the biz. That was, until Kai Cenat joined “First Take” yesterday and gave Stephen A. a run for his $100 million over five years. The source of their competing jabs was a debate we’ve all had (and we’ve all regretted having): Jordan or LeBron? Why must we pit two GOATS against each other?

Brenda Song is Hollywood’s biggest sports fan and she has been since Day One. She grew up watching Michael Jordan’s Bulls and has been a lover of the game ever since. But when she discovered Kobe, things really got out of hand (positive).

From having a cardboard cutout of him in her dressing room while on Disney shows (where she traded game tickets for show tickets with the Buss family) to being sent to the hospital for hyperventilating over a Lakers game, she’s undoubtedly the GOAT when it comes to being a diehard.

We know all of this thanks to the massively fun promo tour Brenda is on for her new show, “Running Point,” which is inspired by Jeanie Buss’s life (full circle much??). Her role as Waves’ Chief of Staff, Ali Lee, has afforded her the right to use the intimate “we” and “our” when referring to her Lakers—it’s almost like some form of reverse method acting took place. That’s the kind of dedication to your craft that will get you renewed for a second season

Considering all of this, it’s no surprise that she runs circles around her castmates (and probably everyone else alive) when it comes to sports trivia.

And despite having a beautiful love story with husband Macauley Culkin, she’s not monogamous about sports. She’s a huge football fan, too—a fact she’s subtly been ramming down our throats (positive) for years. She and Culkin were at the Super Bowl donning LA Rams gear. Here they are presumably on their way to The Suite Life at the game

Stan Kroenke better have her on the phone asap because we’re seeing a nice branch for her in the Sean McVay coaching tree

When Jake Paul signed Amanda Serrano, one of the most famous and well-known boxers in the world, he knew it would elevate women’s boxing to the next level. This summer Serrano will face Ireland’s biggest sports star in Katie Taylor in a rematch of their last fight—and actually the one before that one, as this is not their first, not their second but their third meeting. How many fights officially make a rivalry, by the way? Let us know.

The last time they met, it wasn’t the main event, but it did end up saving the night for many who were underwhelmed by the too frequently-buffering circus known as the Mike Tyson-Jake Paul fight. This event, Netflix’s second live streaming Fight Night,  will mark the first ever all-women’s boxing card at MSG (ever heard of it? It’s short for Madison Square Garden, and it’s in the Big Apple, baby!).

Taylor is defending her undisputed super lightweight title against Serrano, who holds multiple titles across about 1,000 different weight classes. Will this rematch outdo the 74 million crazed souls screaming at their screens the first time around? It doesn’t really matter; it’s just going to be a friggin’ blast to witness history.
