A Moment For The Jennifer Hudson Spirit Tunnel

A nonprofit started by an oil tycoon who’s been tapped by the president to help Save College Football sounds like something AI would hallucinate. And you know what, maybe it is. Here’s one for all you “Landman” watchers and enjoyers.

When it comes to racing, women have been forced to settle for crumbs, Toni Cowan-Brown says. It’s a sport that should absolutely lend itself to all genders competing, but that isn’t the case. Yet. This is something that’s bothered me, too. If you are a female driver, let me know, I'll give you $1 million. Er– I mean, I’ll try at least. 

MeowMix, a Carolina Panthers’ fan fave podcast bailed earlier this year because the team was so bad. Now, the Panthers are good (?) and MeowMix is begging to come back. But it’s not worth the jinx, say players and fans. Maybe more podcasters should try this trick. 

ESPN and YouTubeTV are still fighting, which begs my question: Where are people watching ESPN? Anyway, certainly both parties are taking a pretty big hit, here, no? Maybe we can come to the table to resolve this for the kids (us)? 

You’re familiar with the tunnel walk, obviously, because you have a pulse (and you’ve been reading this newsletter). But are you familiar with her sister, the spirit tunnel? Anyone and everyone gets ‘fit pics in the tunnel when they arrive at their games, but not everyone gets an invite to The Jennifer Hudson Show’s spirit tunnel. A tunnel so special, it’s like an immediate hit of serotonin straight to the dome.

You simply can’t watch the clips and hear the chants, tailored specifically for each guest, without bobbing your head on beat or at the very least smiling. 

A’ja Wilson was the J Hud’s latest guest of honor and in addition to giving us this sound bite, which I will be using daily in group chats (who doesn’t love a good old fashioned “nananana boo boo”?), she also gave us one of the best spirit tunnel walks. Shout out Petey Pablo.

Some other sporty entrances worth mentioning include: Jordan Chiles, who should be studied for being so cool; Olympic track star Melissa Jefferson Wooden; Paige Bueckers, who was surprised with her ROTY award mid tunnel; oh, and of course, the person reading this :). 

The spirit tunnel is such a vibe, teams all over do their own versions. 

Let me guess, you feel great now? That’s what I thought…

Things got chaotic (positive) on the internet for people who have vested interests in the Jets, Colts, Cowboys, and Seahawks, or who have a vested interest in #posting. 

The Jets sent defensive stars Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams away to the Colts and Cowboys respectively, and the reactions are pretty split. Sauce, who’d really found a home in New York, was sad to say goodbye. Many Jets fans did the only thing they knew how: laugh so as not to cry. 

And make a plan to rebuild. 

And put a moratorium on jersey purchases until further notice.

Unrelated, Tom Brady cloned his dog, so…that’s the context of this joke…
